             Employee Development Methods and Benefits.
Employee development is equally related to training except the difference really lies in the time frame. Employee training is present-day and focuses on their current jobs and enriches their skills and abilities, that are needed to perform their current job duties. For example, when you first start a job with a company you will need training. Even if you have a degree and are just starting out of college; you need to be oriented into the company, and become familiar with their policies and practices. In the beginning of a new job, the training received is very job specific. The training usually consists of orientation, and so many hours of job specific training. Some organizations also have classes pertaining to the field that you must take. For example, an organization that provides direct care to consumers such as group homes may have classes such as CPR, First Aide, nutrition classes, and other skills classes. The benefits of these trainings is to prepare the new employee for the new job duties they will perform in their new position and familiarize the new hire with the organizations policies, practices and other aspects of the organization (John Wiley and Sons, 200-2015). .
The next step as the new employee grows into their new position is the development of new skills that would allow an employee to advance in the organization and this step is known as employee development. For example, if you are a program manager in an organization and want to become a program director you will need to acquire the new skills that will help you to advance to the new position.
