However, statistics show otherwise. More than 41 percent of children were born outside marriage in 2012 and the number has been increasing steadily every year since 1970s4. All of these overwhelming statistics show that people no longer consider marriage as an institution necessary for having children. Should they think otherwise? I think so. As long as words such as stability, financial security, health or quality of life are often mentioned in various media among the most important aspects of our lives we should consider marriage a way to improve our lives and this is exactly what I will try to prove in this essay.
One of the main reasons that people refusing marriage should consider is the stability and security that marriage provides. People often argue that no official paper guarantees that. That's certainly true, but still, marriage symbolizes the willingness of both parties to sacrifice a bit of their freedom, not only personal in order to provide a stable environment, but also from the financial point of view and that certainly means something. We don't have to count long to realize that two people can provide for themselves easier than each of them on their own. Married couples usually take advantage of two salaries and they pay only one rent. This financial security definitely encourages married couples to have children and therefore fulfil its role in the society which is children upbringing. Tax benefits for married couple which are provided by many countries also go hand in hand with the financial stability and governments also admit the unsubstitutable role of marriage in today's society.
But money on its own do not buy you everything. Would you like to live longer? Get married. The recent studies of the University of Economics in Prague show that people who get married before they reach the age of thirty live longer than those who remain single5. Especially men should pay attention to that research as they may get more "extra" years than women.
