Reaching for My Goals

Throughout my life, I have learned to set high goals, reach for them, and achieve them. It is very important to me to be successful and to never settle for less than my full potential. I don't want to be average in anything that I do, but I wish to stand out as a person who works hard and doesn't give up. I believe that helping other people is an imperative step in learning more about myself. To teach them that all things are possible if you are willing to work harder than you ever have to obtain them is a key in helping them become a stronger individual. When I graduate from college I want to become a physician. This will be a good way for people to see what it takes to be a successful member of society. All of these things are important personal goals that I truly believe I can acquire by working hard and putting forth my best effort.
I have the expectation to achieve all of my goals. I want to graduate with a 4.0 grade point average from high school and attend a medical college. I also expect to be successful in my athletic endeavors. I have set a goal of being in the top five of the Division II State Cross-Country Finals next year. I also expect to be in the top two for the two mile run in track before I graduate. These are very high goals, but I know that I am capable of doing nothing less than my best. Success is what all people strive for. I want to surpass what I think my highest potential is because that is when you know that you have tried your hardest. Showing other people that they can do anything they set their mind to is another goal of mine. I want to watch people do things that they never thought that they could do. Seeing them excel to new heights is one of the most rewarding things to experience. On many occasions, I have helped my younger sister to exceed what she thinks she is capable of. She often has trouble with her homework and thinks about giving up, but I urge her to work harder and she has learned to persevere and do her best, not only in her academic career, but in all aspects of her life.
