Nonverbal communication

Do you believe that when communicating with another person, your words are not the most powerful, meaningful use in your conversation? If you do, you"re wrong. In reading, Beyond Words, An Introduction to Nonverbal communication, by Randall Harrison, I discovered that this is wrong. Think for a moment what it would be like to interact daily with others and not be able to see them. A great deal of communication is sent to the receiver without the use of verbal language. This to you may seem to be confusing to understand, but it is true. Nonverbal communication is a major force in our lives. This type of communication is composed of all those messages that people exchange beyond words themselves. Behaviors such as smiling, crying, pointing, caressing, and staring appear are used and understood all over the world. I agree with the author that nonverbal communication is more meaningful and understood then any other type of communication such as verbal communication for a variety of different reasons that I will explain in this paper. .
Although there are many different points, I will talk to you about the three main important reasons as to how nonverbal communicating is very affective to the human being. Kinesics is known as body communication or the study of communication through the body and its body movements. We communicate through gestures, the way we talk, the way we stand, expression on our face or eyes and how we propose ourselves to other people. We will look at all of the specifics. First, I will discuss the central aim of the text. I will also explain how the text is aimed towards us and how it related to us. Second, we will look: Facsics, the study of how the face communicates ocalics, the study of how the eyes communicate, and gestics, the study of the movements of the body. From reading the text, I found that these ways of studying having to do with nonverbal communication can assist people in their daily lives and I will discuss how it has assisted my daily life.
