This article introduces the nonverbal communication's differences in different cultures and its importance to study the "silent language" of one culture.

             Thesis statement: Nonverbal communication is as important as what people say. But much of nonverbal communication in different cultures is beyond our awareness. Lack of such knowledge may arise misunderstanding and conflicts.
             Language studies traditionally have emphasized verbal and written language, but in the late dozens of years have begun to consider communication that takes place without words. In some types of communication people express more nonverbally than verbally. Speaking is just one mode of communication. There are many others nonverbal communication including facial expressions, tones of voice, gestures, eye contact, spatial arrangements, patterns of touch, expressive movement, cultural differences, and other nonverbal acts.
             Research suggests that nonverbal communication is more important in understanding human behavior than words and the nonverbal "channels"seem to be more powerful than what people say. But culture is invisible, nonverbal has the same quality. Much of our nonverbal behavior like culture tends to be frequently beyond our awareness.Nonverbal communication expresses meaning or feeling are expressed meaning or feeling without words.
