Rape victims contain long term symptoms of chronic headaches, fatique, sleep disturbance, recurrent nausea, decrea appetite, eating disorders, menstrual pain, and sexual disfuntion. Victims have a fear of anxiety; their safty has changed. Everything reminds them of the trauma including smells, noises, and places. Some even re-experience the trauma by unwanted thoughts, flashbacks, and nightmares (Kilpatrick). They will start feeling jumpy, jittery, shaky, startled, and have trouble sleeping. They will also see the world as being filled with danger and their reaction to this danger is to freeze (Franklin). Common problems after trauma include the use of drugs and alcohol.
             Would you want your kids going through on a regular basis? What would you do if you knew that your child is the one who commited the crime? Even worse, how would you feel if your daughter got pregnant with out even knowing how? .
             Pregnancy rate associated with rape is estimated to be 4.7%. There are more than 32,101 rape related pregnancies among American women over the age of 18.
             Rape is the highest victim cost at $127,000,000,000, assault is at $93,000,000,000, murder is at $61,000,000,000, and child abuse is at $56,000,000,000. Lifetime cost for each rape with physical injuries is over $60,000,000,000,000 (Rape Fact Sheet). .
             If that's not bad enough, think of all the sexually transmitted diseases out there, that are waiting for a victim. Transmitted diseases are possible as a result of being sexually assaulted.
             If your lucky, the disease you might get can be treated. Some examples of this disease are Trichomonas, bacteria that can be spread into your fallopian tubes and cause pain; Chlamydia, bacteria that can cause painful infections that lead to infertility; and Gonorrhoea, which causes abdominal pain and vaginal discharges.
