Are Drugs Bad?

Americans would be surprised to know how many neighbors of this group they have. The following was taken from an interview with an individual that uses drugs. When asked to describe how he started using drugs, how they affected his life, and what he thought about them he said,.
"I started using drugs when I was in middle school. I think maybe to be cool. I've used just about every drug since and sometimes often. I've done more drugs than most people can imagine. I've spent and lost more money on drugs than most people can imagine. I've definitely had some good times with my drug experience. Some of my best times, even. Most people would never have a clue that I use drugs. I have been close to being addicted to a couple of drugs but I was strong enough as a person not to accept that fate. I've had some friends that have really messed up because of drugs. But most of my friends are responsible when using. I can only count on one hand everyone I went to school with, or grew up with that hasn't done drugs. Most of them turned out okay. Nobody outdid me as far as being wild and hard-core. I am a pretty successful guy though-I would think. I make good money and I have a bright future. The only thing I would wish to be different is that my family would not have worried so much. They just didn't understand and worried for nothing. Overall I don't think drugs are bad. I don't regret doing them. I had a lot of fun. I gained a lot of experiences in life. I know things that some people never will and I have a perspective on life that many will never enjoy" (Anonymous). .
The group that is most publicized in the war on drugs are addicts. Addicts are the most troubled group and cause the most trouble where drugs are involved. People that are addicted to drugs are weak-minded. They have addictive personalities and could become addicted to anything. Addicts lose all self-control when they get hooked. Their addiction becomes their excuse to give up all responsibilities.
