Mexico

Mexico is a fun and exciting place to visit for all ages. There are so many things to do and see that it would take months, if not years to experience it all, but for those of you that just plan on visiting for a couple days or maybe weeks, here are some enjoyable activities and some necessary information that will be helpful on your trip to Mexico. .
The weather in Mexico varies little throughout the country. It is generally hot to mild during all times of the year. The sun in Mexico, however, is generally intense, even if temperatures are not overly high so don"t forget that sunscreen. The landscape is fairly uneven with many hills, mountains, valleys, rivers, and even deserts, so make sure you bring your tank tops and hiking boots. There are six major sections to the country; the Baha Peninsula, Northern Mexico, the Pacific Coast, Central Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula, and the Gulf and Southern Mexico. Each section has it's own unique characteristics such as beautiful beaches, resorts, mountains, gorgeous coastlines, quaint towns and elegant plazas. Currency exchange in Mexico is exceedingly easy and is available at banks, major hotels, airports, and exchange houses. Most banks are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week and some are open on Saturdays from 9 to 2. Exchange houses generally have quicker services than banks and have longer hours and often offer a better exchange rate. The exchange rate is commonly almost eleven Pesos in exchange for one U.S. dollar. Several forms of valid identification may be required in order to pass the border into Mexico. A valid passport, birth certificate, and photo I.D. will most likely be required when visiting the country. Another piece of information that may be useful is that Chiapas, a city located in Southern Mexico, is currently experiencing some social problems between certain ethnic groups, but is generally not a threat to tourist destinations; however, if possible, avoiding this area would be the safer choice.
