New York Times

New York Times is one of the most famous newspapers in the world. Except from being a famous newspaper, NYT has developed a very accurate and informative online newspaper. The online version covers various types of news such as international, domestic, business news, sports and common interest news. Between the two versions, there are differences in the time of the occurrence of events and the time they are published. Online NYT publishes the news the same day they happen, in contrast with the ordinary newspaper where news is published the next day. However it is up to the reader to choose which version of the same medium suits them best.
Before analysing both the medium and the news items it covers, we should mention the days which the research covered. The research covered the issues from the 18th to the 20th of March.
Each day consists of about 18 to 25 news items separated by region. Every day, the four most important events are presented with a title in bold, a small description, and with media elements such as photos on the cover page. Another five less import items are put bellow the four most important and the rest are separated alphabetically by region. The regions are Africa, Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, and Middle East. .
Most of the news that is covered by NYT International online section has to do with major events. Some characteristic examples are political events such as the Spanish elections or the ones in Georgia. Furthermore the reader may find international conflicts, for example the crisis in Haiti, the Iraq occupation, the Pakistani troops in Afghanistan, the train bombings in Spain and the turbulence in Kosovo. One can also find other items with a different orientation such as strategic aliases, for instance the development of the relations between USA and India on a technological basis, as long as India's new missiles tests. All these form an unparalleled mosaic of international news.
