keep his simple life in order. Biblically and Mythologically we see a trend in the area of "good son" and "bad son". For whatever reason it is, humans earnestly "root" for the little guy, or the underdog, or for the sake of our topic, the second son, or in this particular story, Abel. .
Now, the second generally excepted theory by the scientific world would be the theory of evolution. .
There are two parts to the evolutionary process that we must examine. .
The first part of the theory is the Chemical Evolution. This part contains the evolvement of the organic molecules, biopolymers, and systems of chemical reactions needed to form the first protocells (pg. 103, Miller Jr.). This process took somewhere around 1 billion years.
The second part of this process is the Biological Evolution. This stage begins with a single celled Prokaryotic bacteria, this evolves into a single celled eukaryotic creature, and ending with a multicellular organism (Pg. 103, Miller Jr.).

To put both of these theories together and simplify them to a general explanation, as explained in Ishmael, the solar system was formed and earth was just a great rock of dust and wind and the seas were still and silent. After tens of millions of years the vegetation appeared and then in a slime bath, bacteria was formed, and from this bacteria evolved a vertebrate, and from this mammals and so on and so forth until the final evolvement of homo sapien sapien. Ishmael, (Quinn) states that the Gods created earth for man to rule and gave him the power to choose his "destiny". However, with this new found power, man consumed the world and the natural resources that lie within her.
