Growing

 

            I decided early in life to challenge conventional notions of wisdom. Once when I was six years old I decided to slip the earthly bonds of gravity and fly from the roof of my house. I jumped from the roof of my house and found out very quickly that grvity still had a strong grip on me. I am older now and no longer try to fly. However I still test my limits, mental and physical. I try to involve myself with as many things as possible. I could define myself with the overused superlatives, hardworking, selfless, and dedicated. I do not feel that would adequately describe me. You can call me curious. Some people are apprehensive of being labeled curious because it often tends to be associated with mischief, snooping or prying. In my opinion the meaning of curious means to acquire knowledge. I realize now that education is a priceless gift to ones self. There can be no value placed on the gift of infinite wisdom, it has been often to said "if one is hungry and you feed one you have stopped the hunger for a day, but if you teach one to fish it will feed one for life". I am about the business of fishing. In life I have learned many lessons but one of the greatest lessons I have learned is about self perception: It's not what we think of ourselves, rather what we make of ourselves that matters after all is said and done. I can not change yesterday but I can start on tomorrow but making today right.
