Society and Obesity

How Society has begun to Aid in the Problem of Obese Women.

There have been other, more recent eras in which the larger woman was appreciated, admired, and desired. Our views have changed through time and we can never accept one another as we are because people can be so critical. Today society gives us the impression that being overweight is a bad thing, and that we should attend the gym on a regular basis for that reason. This was not the idea in the past, on the other hand society's view were much in favor for the overweight woman. In the 1800s, women with a fuller figure were considered healthier and more attractive. .
During this period doctors also advised women that it was in their benefit to have more flesh because it would defend them against diseases. Through time it went back and forth whether a woman should be skinny of fat. By the early 1900s, however the media began to write articles on how not to be so thin. Since the ideas were never stable on how a woman should look it was known that the "war on fat" was inevitable. .
There was a time when being in an area with fat people or just to be fat was the social enemy. Our preferences are constantly changing and we not always think the same way we thought last year. Therefore, what we need to do first is accept our bodies just the way they are not focus so much to society's business. .
             The Aids to the Problem.
Obesity has been problem for so many years and still our society cannot accept the reality of the issue. Nowadays there has been more focus on fat women and the way stand out in society. For example in today's media the mere thought of diet pills being sold in stores is not seen as a big deal. Not realizing the dangerous aspects of these pills, women feel they have to become the slimmer women. They take these pills and then become addicted to them and then regret trying to lose weight the old fashioned way. When I see these commercials trying to promote the diet pills they illustrate to us that these fat women are unhappy, ugly and only wanting one thing and that is to be skinny.
