            In a world that never sleeps and definitely never stops to consider the effects of constantly running full bore, there must be a voice of reason. From the days of its birth psychology has always been that voice that calls out letting people know that their mental health is just as important as their physical. Present more today than ever before psychologists are working everywhere to keep people mentally fit, from major corporations to strategic work for the military. .
             In today's incredibly fast paced world where a wrong or slow decision can cost a company millions of dollars employers want to make sure that the people making these decisions are mentally fit. Psychologists are now involved in helping to make the work environment much less stressful, thereby making workers more comfortable and more productive. Many companies have also enlisted the support of psychologists in the hiring and promoting of employees to find out whether they are the right person for the job. Many times this use of psychology helps to determine if employees will crumble under pressure, or even to help them deal with personal matters that could affect their work.
             In a world like today's where many new "stressors" that have not existed before or are more prevalent than in the past, the average person is faced with many new high stress situations and decisions. Thereby psychology has become a new and very successful tool for helping people to work through these types of situations and decisions. This has evolved also, into helping companies by ensuring that psychologists have evaluated these people and trained them in stress management techniques. .
             More today than ever before individuals are being trained to perform specific assignments and psychology plays a major role in the selection process of people to perform these tasks. This is very prevalent in the military, where every person that enters the service is evaluated psychologically in some form to help determine the position that would best fit their mental makeup.
