             September 11th, 2001.
September 11th, 2001 was a very tragic day for the United States. This was the day when two hijacked planes crashed into the World Trade Center Towers, sending them to the ground in smoke and ash. Another hijacked plane had also crashed into a wall of the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. These attacks were caused by Islamic terrorists. A fourth plane had crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. This had not been the first time that America had been the target of terrorists. The World Trade Center had been targeted before by Islamic terrorists in 1993.
On September 11, 2001, it was a regular day for the people of New York City. All of that had suddenly changed when New Yorkers had witnessed the attack that changed our lives. At 8:47 A.M., a plane had crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center. At 9:02 A.M., another plane crashed into the south tower of the World Trade Center. When the first crash had occurred, the people of New York thought of it as an accident. Though after the south had been attacked, New Yorkers realized that this was not an accident, it was a terrorist attack. At 9:41 A.M., a 757 was flying low over Washington D.C. and then crashed into a wall of the Pentagon. A fourth plane that was heading toward Washington D.C. crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. At 9:50 A.M. the south tower of the World Trade Center collapsed because the jet fuel from the plane created a fire. The steel and concrete melted which could not have supported the weight of the above floors. Forty minutes after the south tower had collapsed, the north tower had also collapsed.
