Being a kid raised in the inner city there"re not a lot of things to do. So most of us kids would sit around and talk about the stories we would hear from the older people in the neighborhood. One story that seemed to be on all of our minds was the one that happened in the house next door to mine. It was a story of a very attractive middle-aged woman, who was obsessed with wanting a marital relationship and having a family. However, her boyfriend didn't feel the same. He would tell her, I need more time. She was getting tried of waiting, she would ask him almost every day, "Are you ready yet?" It came to the point where he couldn't take it any longer. The story goes that he went insane and stabbed her over and over again. He then took her body to the coal cellar in the basement and laid it on top of the coals; he also put her new wedding dress next to the bloody body. The story continues, stating that she walks the halls of the house in her wedding dress looking for a husband.
Our friends, Dawn, Wendy, and Heidi lived in the house; we would ask them if they heard sounds or saw things. All three agreed the house was haunted. They said sounds would come from the basement at night. It sounded like a person walking around sliding their feet. The sound would work its way toward the basement stairs and up into the house. Their parents also heard the sounds and encountered strange disturbances in the house, which ultimately led to their decision to move out. The house never sold; it just sat vacant year after year. .
On a cold night in October 1986, curiosity got the best of us. Our mother was not home, so my sister and I decided to try an ouiji board to contact the lady in the story. We invited over our sibling friends Johnny and Tammy to see if they wanted to be part of it. The two of them were more than willing to participate.
