The world is rapidly changing to further technology and communication areas. Somewhere down the road we will come to depend on computers maybe too much. There is good and bad to come from technology and communication and its advances. It all depends on who is using the technology and what they are using it for. .
In today's world you cannot go a day without using some sort of device or form of communication in the office or at home. There are numerous forms of communication to be found in the office today some these examples are palm pilots, email messaging, voicemail, online chat rooms, discussion groups, and instant messaging. And there are several forms that we take for granted in our new modern world today that we use on a daily basis at home. We use online banking, interact (debit) card transactions, cellular phones, even using your remote starter for your car is a form of computer communication. In today's world the technology that we have gained throughout the years has also cause some significant problems, such as the wide spread use of pornographic material accessible to children, access to children via the internet chat rooms. These are just two of the many problems that we have stumbled upon following the spread of the Internet across the world. .
The office today compared to the office twenty years ago has changed significantly. The equipment that was available in 1983 was ancient compared to the equipment available today in 2003. There were phones, copiers, fax machines, and computers; however, comparing this equipment with today's equipment they would be considered to be obsolete. The technology today is so much faster, more colorful, and user friendlier than it was in 1983. Very few in 1983 even new about Internet and how it was used or even what it was used for. Businesses were just starting to get online and use programs for everyday office work.
The communication forms that are found in the office have specific Netiquette rules in sending or distributing email, discussion groups, posting on the Usenet groups, or online chatting.
