Super Natural vs. Natural Beings

 

            Other beings Natural or Super-Natural, pose a threat to the human race. All throughout life itself, humans have been considered the dominant race because of their ability to reason, however, this may change. In the book African Short Stories, there are natural beings like animals and super-natural beings such as gods that have surreal powers. In this book these forces are finding their own ways to outsmart the human race, it looks as if the human race might as well be considered an endangered species. In The Gentlemen of the Jungle, the natural beings, the animals all go against the one human character. In Protista, the man in the desert in being punished by a super-natural force that makes him hallucinate. In The False Prophet, a super-natural force messes with his mind while he is under the tree.
             In The Gentlemen of the Jungle, the threat to the human is a natural being, they are animals that live in the forest, since there is many animals and but one human, the animals take advantage of the human. The man builds himself shelter which is a little hut because there was a heavy downpour of rain. He and an elephant become friends and asks the man if he could put his trunk in the hut so it would not get wet, the man acknowledged his request and let the elephant put his trunk in the hut. "The elephant soon puts his whole body in the hut and the man is left with no shelter, the elephant outsmarted the man. The man gets upset with the elephant and starts to grumble; soon the Lion which is leader of the kingdom lets this go to church. The jury was full of only animals and the judge was also an animal. The jury listens to the elephant and the man, and after they do, the man's story was supposed to make him not guilty, however, knowing that the man was innocent the jury charged him guilty because he was human the elephant was of their own kind.
