Obesity

The decreased movement in obese patients with arthritis also makes treatment difficult. In many parts of the world, obese people may be rejected in various ways. Obese or overweight people are often treated unkindly by others, including their classmates in school. They generally have less social success than other people and may find it harder to get jobs.
One of the leading causes of obesity among all age groups is physical inactivity, especially among teenagers and young people. Most obese young people do not eat more than young people of normal weight. They are just so inactive that even with a moderate appetite; they eat more than they need to and accumulate excess fat that won't be burnt off because of lack of exercise. Exercise burns these many calories, and the more vigorous the activity, the more calories are burned off. Appetite is independent from the decrease in activity but dependant on the increase of activity. In other words the appetite of active people may increase if they become very active. If they become inactive, their appetite may not necessarily change back. Appetite does not go below a minimum level even if activity drops. .
Heredity also plays a major role in how much body fat you would have. Genes determine whether excess weight is stored as lean or fat tissue. There is evidence that some people are more likely to become obese than others because of their genes. In my family, I have seen it from parents to their children. It's not your fault if you are obese because of your parents but that doesn't mean you don't have to do anything about it. It is still your responsibility to get up and exercise. Maybe seeing everyone in your family as overweight or obese is not encouraging but it is all for your own health. Who are you to blame for taking someone else's genes. What can you do about it? You can look on the positive sides and start working on burning your body fat and have a nutritional diet that would benefit you.
