Violence

Alcohol use is one of the major causes of violence, although alcohol is so cheap that even the poorest people can get it without committing income-generating crimes. The most important ways that alcohol and other drug use are related to violence are the first, the self-centered, impulsive, and self-gratifying values that supports crime also inspires the use of illegal drugs. Values matter a lot in human behavior and they matter especially in both crime and drug use. Alcohol and other addictive drugs cause the users' brain to work poorly, which leads to an impaired brain or a selfish brain. This intoxicated impairment at times leads people to commit impulsive, destructive crimes, including crimes of violence.
Some claim that entertainment and the media are largely responsible for the increase in violence in our society. They argue that movies, television, popular music, and video games glamorize violence and influence people to behave violently specifically children. This argument is supported by incidents like one that took place sometime ago in the Washington, D.C. area, where three teens were arrested in an attack on two youths, one of whom suffered a fractured skull and permanent eye damage. Police believed that the attack by teens got motivated after seeing Bruce Lee film "The Chinese Connection". Whether the three boys would have committed the attack even if they had not seen the film is uncertain. Most of the youngsters love watching action movies and adore their movie characters to such an extent that they start acting like them. Like in movies they like to show their power amongst their friends and enemies that many times ends up in violence. Studies have shown that repetitive exposure to violent entertainment does play a role in desensitizing people to the human cost of violence in reality. How blame the entertainment industry for the explosion of violent crime is to deny the existence of a myriad of other social problems.
