Time to change

 

It is now that we should start feeling if not experiencing the frustrations and the anguish of the people receiving this humanitarian aid. A clear distinction here should be made between the hapless people caught in the midst of this fighting and the actual perpetrator of these crimes. The American government should start understanding the perspectives of the general people around the world, before it starts to address to and fix their problems. .
             America is truly a gifted country indeed. It is rich with all the natural resources, and is blessed with the talent, the expertise and the knowledge to successfully exploit. The American dream is embalmed in every individual, in its true spirit and carried down generation after generation. But then somewhere down the road we have become so indifferent and insensitive to the happenings around the world, that the global community strongly feels we have isolated ourselves from the biting reality.
             America is a just, powerful and a righteous nation. Social issues like poverty, corruption are at a bare minimum compared to global standards. Americans have always believed in hard work and are reaping the benefits. But there are some less fortunate places in this world where social illnesses like poverty, corruption, lawlessness, basic freedom and security seem to underlying problem. It is these very issues which sow the seeds of hatred and violence. .
             It is time we change our mindset and start to decipher and analyze international issues in a way we have never done before. For a moment let us analyze things from a different perspective. Let us visualize an individual living in total abject poverty somewhere in the plains of Afghanistan or any other strife ridden country, toiling eight to twelve hours a day in extreme conditions; he barely manages to bring home a dollar so that he can secure himself and his family a square meal. Now let us imagine this individual watching some television which itself is a treat for him, one more thing take for granted by us.
