             Charles Augustus Lindbergh was born in his grandmother's home in Detroit, Michigan, on February 4, 1902. His father was Charles August Lindbergh who was Minnesota's sixth District Congressman from 1907 to 1917. His mother was Evangeline Lodge Land and was a chemistry teacher who graduated from the University of Michigan. Augustus grew up near Little falls Minnesota. .
             Lindbergh's achievement of being the first man to fly from New York to Paris was a huge accomplishment. The trip took 33 and ½ hours and with only on engine he was least favored over his opponents. On May 20, 1927, Lindbergh took off from Roosevelt Field on a trip to Paris. He arrived on Le Bourget Field near Paris on May 21, 1927. He was awarded many thing from different countries including the Congressional Medal of Honor. .
             After getting back to America Lindbergh made an 82 city U.S. tour to promote the Spirit of St. Louis and the commercialization of aviation. While in Mexico Lindbergh met Anne Spencer Morrow, fell in love and got married to her. After returning to America he devised a plan to create the first Central American Airmail Service. This is a minor accomplishment for him because of his history of huge achievements. .
             Geographically this affected America greatly because they could finally communicate between North America and Central America without the huge delay of travel. This meant that now people could live farther away from their friends and relatives without losing touch. This could also help during war times. The President could now have faster control of the battlefield without critical time being lost. .
