In the end, she had failed and died. Therefore, we could see that the first role of politics is to bring misery to the people who are opposed by it.
In addition, we can observe the same phenomena in the story "Angels", written by Milan Kundera. Half of the story "Angels" is about two students doing their oral in front the class and the other half is dedicated to Kundera life story. The author is telling us about his past, in 1948, when communist had taken power in his country. When this happened, he knew that he did not belong in this particular circle of society. Kundera was rejected by his society since he did not fit in well with this new society. As a result, he was on his own. .
" I realized with anguish in my heart that they were flying like birds and I was falling like a stone, that they had wings and I would never have any." 2.
To sum up, when we change something, it is usually for the better but when politics changed, in Kundera's case, he was left alone and the pressure build up inside of him. Thus, he contained the anger within himself, which in turn, hurt him in the inside. Furthermore, eighteen years after the communist took power over his society, the Russian Empire took power in Czechoslovakia. These new events totally changed Kundera's life. Before the Russians arrived, Kundera was still able to live a good and quiet life but when the Russians came, Kundera was driven away from his job.
" Russian tanks burst into Bohemia and soon tens of thousands of people were in turn accused of betraying the people and its hopes, some of them thrown into prison and most of them driven from their jobs one of these newly accused (I myself) was A year after I wrote my last astrological article." 3.
So again, we can see that Freud's theory about the need for self-preservation is truly disrupted by social anxiety. Kundera's life was ruined when the law changed and when he couldn't fit in the society.
