Martin Luther King Jr, a man who is a hero, and never had to fight in a physical manner to change the lives of millions, by bringing justice to minority groups. King created non-violent protesting with powerful words rather than weapons. King accomplished so much peace and serenity in his sermons that a gun or a fist never could. King was the prime leader of the Montgomery bus boycott, a keynote speaker at the march on Washington, youngest Nobel peace prize winner, but to king all these accomplishments were stepping stones to his endless fight to protest non-violence and equality. (Gale) In the end violence caught up to him, King was assassinated out of hatred on April 4th, 1968. His unselfish ways influenced of so many in the united states of America as well as the world. His famous speech summed up his overall goal as a civil rights activist. The very popular speech became known as " I have a dream.". In the sermon King wanted to erase racism and prejudice, He wanted people to start viewing society as a whole rather than divided into race, sex, religion and beliefs. His dream was for one day to have all black and white, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics to join hands and become one in the diverse world we live in. Kings heroics influenced a large number of individuals thought on life. All though he did not live to see the great strides he made in America, his memory still lives on and his heroics will never be forgotten. (King Speech).
Like Martin Luther King Jr, Lance Armstrong influenced many lives, but by example rather than words. Cancer Has played a difficult role in so many peoples lives. Lance Armstrong gives a sense of encouragement and motivation to never give up even when it may seem the odds are stacked against those facing cancer. Armstrong was born to a seventeen year old mother and his father left him before he was old enough to know the difference. As a child growing up with a single mother he never was allowed to enjoy the finer things in life but instead of hindering him from succeeding it only pushed him harder.
