             Taken from the Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC) we can see that seniority is typically the deciding factor when a company is promoting from within. The racial slurs and being passed over for the promotion were a form of direct discrimination. Naheed was obviously more qualified then her predecessor, as her current boss Joe Banks had allowed her to perform work related duties that were generally reserved for supervisors. This included training all of the new staff. Joe Banks knew how important she was to the company as he had also implemented some of her suggestions to improve office operations. Furthermore, we believe that Naheed should be offered a new position within the company where her skills can be utilized. Naheed has proven that she has managerial skills, with her training of new employees, and using initiative to further benefit the office operations. She is an asset to the company, and she should be treated like one.
             2. Naheed is an excellent employee within our company. At her current position, she has excelled within her surroundings. This is why we believe that Naheed should continue to work in this situation. Currently for the past three years she has been employed as a Reservation Officer, and has shown great improvements overtime. This is why we feel for the company it is most beneficial for us to leave Naheed within her current position as losing Naheed in her job as a Reservation Officer would be too great of a loss compared to the benefits of promoting her. The individual whom did receive the promotion presented themselves mores as management material then Naheed did.
