There were gentler gods like love, and marriage. Stories that were told about the gods or Greeks were called myths or mythology. .
One well-known myth is the one about Hercules; it goes a little like this. One day Hercules became fill with anger and assassinated his wife and children. He had to complete 12 labours to prove that he was a hero not a villain and to free him from the guilt. He completed all 12 labours and then people thought as him to be a hero for saving people and a whole bunch of impossible tasks. Jason was another god that was first thought of being a villain. He captured the Golden Fleece this was the part they thought he was a hero but he promised Medea (a witch that helped him) that he would marry her. After having the Golden Fleece he resisted in doing so. Atalanta was one of the biggest hero's of the time but she was also one of the slower think. Not being born a male her father rejected her. When Zeus placed women on the Earth they were meant to be evil. Since Atalanta thought of women being independent she never what"d to marry any men. Her father forced her to get married. So Atalanta made a plan. She decided that she would have a race against all of the men that what"d to marry her. Atalanta was very athletic, so she knows that she would win and would not have to marry any of them because the men that lost were then killed. Even though it was a hard compation many men showed up. Hippomens really what"d to won the race.
