Hero

Now what does being a hero actually mean? Well in the dictionary it states many different definitions, but I would just like to focus on a few, which are: a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities; one that shows great courage; and an object of extreme admiration and devotion. These three definitions almost give a perfect example of what I would consider to be a hero, but one thing is missing. My personal definition of a hero would be more then just an admired person, but someone I want to become in all aspects. With this in mind what person can be my "hero" if my image of heroism is perfection? That would leave only two true heroes in my life and that is God and his son, Jesus Christ.
Christ is the only person that came to this world and did not commit a sin. Not only did he not commit one, but also he was crucified so that we are able to repent when we do sin. Being the human I am, I have made many mistakes. Some almost more than I can bear, but through God I have been able to get through it. Not only do these two beings help me live my life they are the reason that I am on the Earth today. There is no one else in my life that I want to be more like.
God is the person that I hope to be more like, but until the next life I cannot accomplish that completely. I can only try, and there are many people that I do admire that help me in so many ways to become more like my heroes. The three definitions from the dictionary that I have previously spoken of not only describe my true heroes, but also the people I cherish.
A couple of people that have been a huge part of my life are my parents. Foremost I would like to focus on my mother. She accomplishes more things in a day than I probably do in a week. Not only does she work hard every day, but also she has raised seven kids, a big garden every summer, and I can't forget my dad. She didn't just "raise" me and my brothers and sisters like her garden, she taught us.
