Natural Born Killers

Oliver Stones latest film, Natural Born Killers, is a violent drama that reflects the psychological motivation of two mass murderers, driven by their past. Two victims of traumatized childhoods become lovers and psychopathic serial murderers irresponsibly glorified by the mass media. The two murderers, Mickey and Mallory Knox, escapes from their abusive childhood, and they wont let anyone disturb their journey. If anyone does, they die, and it won't take much to disturb Mickey and Mallory, or get them a bit too excited. Mickey, played by Woody Harrelson, and Mallory, played by Juliette Lewis, are shown in a way that makes you remember them. Never will you experience such ruthless, yet affectionate behavior. They kill with more than hate in their eyes. There is something about their appearance that tempts you to imagine what they are really thinking about themselves and their actions. .

From the moment you lay eyes on any of the first scenes in this movie, you won't be able to look anywhere else, even if you are one of those people who turn your head away from the movie-screen every time you feel there's a killing or anything else grotesque coming up. After an hour or so, you will realize that you haven't blinked since you started watching. When the movie is over, you"re hungry and exhausted. Hungry for more action, exhausted from the continuous chaotic environment you have been a victim to for the last two hours. Your regular life will feel so quiet and safe after watching this movie. However, deeper into the movie, you also find a quite touching love story to satisfy your sensitive side. .
Harrelson, and especially Lewis, are on the mark in their portrayals of the wild pair. They may seem a bit too unrealistic, but nevertheless, you will find yourself thinking about the possibility that all human beings carry the potential to act the way they do under the same childhood circumstances. The cartoon-like supporting characters seems just as unrealistic as Mickey and Mallory, with Robert Downey Jr.
