Physical Educator Philosophy

 

            
            
             As a teacher, my professional responsibility is to model for my students good moral habits and ethical behavior. I will encourage my students to act ethically. I hope to enhance creativity, productivity, and responsibility in my students so they flourish to become productive citizens, professionals and future educators. Teachers should encourage self-discipline in students so they are respectful, cooperative, attentive and self-starting. The teacher is a traveling companion by a student's side to guide them on their career path. It is my professional responsibility to further my learning in education through workshops, my colleagues, instructional tools, technology, an other new information so I can always give my students 110%!.
             The exceptional teacher is always learning. I want the students to engage in oral discourse and cooperative learning so they learn not only from me, the teacher, but from their peers. Various types of technology used in the classroom are a must so students can see that the impossible is possible. I want to take my class on field trips that will parallel with the curriculum being taught. I want to express different styles of teaching and talk about current issues that are facing us today.
             I believe children's needs have to be met before you can begin to teach them. Schools have to provide a positive learning environment for children. A school should center around the child, not vice versa. I believe teachers should integrate the seven multiple intelligences in their daily lesson plans. It is essential because not all children learn the same; therefore teachers should not teach the same for all children.
