For instance, the scenes of the persons being evicted out of their homes were very depressing. These were hard working individuals prior to this lay off and probably were doing well for themselves maybe not rich like Mr. Roger Smith but, were comfortable in their lives. All of a sudden now, they are worrying about housing. Now not only would you be counseling for self esteem issues, and helping them to build off of their assets but also doing community support work to assist with all the other issues they are addressing such as housing food and clothing. In this case, for the people in Flint times were especially hard due to the fact this was such a huge impact on the economy in the region because Flint was GM or GM was Flint so many other businesses relied on this company to keep their own doors open. Therefore, when the plants closed where were the people to get jobs even if they were retrained there was not a new job to go to. .
             The ramifications on a counseling practice would be very significant and it would depend on where you were working. If you were in private practice, you had better look for another job because your clients do not have any money to pay for your services. If you are working in a public agency be prepared to take some mental health days because your case load is going to be so large you will not be able to get all that glorious paper work completed and you will be working overtime unfortunately you wont get paid overtime for it. In a school, setting be prepared for the many kids acting out because kids do not speak out they act out.
             Companies should have an obligation to there in employees if they have lay offs such as retraining programs. Unfortunately most companies have the attitude that they help pay for unemployment benefits so why should they go any further. Some companies tend to lay off workers right before they retire which is disgusting, so they do not have to pay the full retirement benefits.
