Sometimes it is difficult to rely on your own perception of the situation, since who on this earth is perfectly flawless? When you witness another's problem, and have the opportunity to modify their decisions, it will help you, in your time of distress, to think before reacting hence lighten the consequences. Joan French, author of the article "Organizing Women through Drama in Rural Jamaica", mentions "In the process of drafting this play, the research material was periodically brought back to the reference group in a dramatic form, ( ) as to encourage analysis and reflection and get participants to decide what exactly had to be changed, and how"(179). Society has now somewhere to turn to for advice and support that it has never had before. The success is immense, and reward plentiful. .

Correspondingly, theatre is very practical in educating and fashioning new knowledge in a population. Living in a developed country, our lives tend to be overrun by work, school and family responsibilities. This misfortune does not give us the opportunity to reach out to other communities; it's almost like we think the world revolves around us. Theatre ventures to eradicate this negative approach. It brings values, difficulties and celebrations of other communities to our homes. An example that can illustrate this point of view is my own experience in a humanities class that I attend at Marianopolis College. The teacher had us watch a video on immigrants who had trouble adapting to the Canadian way of living. I was intrigued by their daily obstacles and was therefore more aware of things that I previously disregarded, such as using a language that they are more comfortable with. It is equivalently true that presentations done by our community to educate developing nations are useful. These unfortunate beings profit from them for many reasons, namely their rate of crime is known to be higher than the one in Canada, therefore by understanding our ways of viewing some problems, they might discover a way to deal with their share of dilemmas.
