Yes To Cloning!

Imagine if instead of watching a loved one suffer and die from AIDS, cancer or any one of a massive number of diseases, we could find the cause of these ailments and test possible cures. But instead, we are faced with a "moral minefield", where any direction scientists turn they must deal with controversy surrounding their research. All the while, that potentially life saving research is being held off as we debate on just how far science should be allowed to go.
The main controversy with cloning is the public's worry of scientists playing God. Many are worried that scientific experiments are growing out of control and that we are creating life that shouldn't exist. However creating this life is what allows us as a species, to evolve and continue to exist. By synthesizing embryos for testing of diseases as well as many other options, we strengthen ourselves and our knowledge of the way medicine can work. Yet there seems to be another strong opposition that completely counteracts the above. Many people, especially pro-life conservatives, have a strong moral objection to doing tests on embryos. From their side of the fence, this embryo is a human being and has all the same rights as a fully developed life-form. Thus performing tests on and sometimes killing these embryos is another major controversy. So how can scientists ever appease everyone? There are some who feel embryos shouldn't be created at all and then there are others who want the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to be given to these small undeveloped creatures. In the end, there will always be opposition towards creating embryos and cloning in general. .
Despite controversy, scientists are still moving full speed ahead in their journey towards cloning. Disease treatment, however, is just one of the many prospects of cloning. Scientists have discovered ways of actually regenerating tissues in order to regrow new organs.
