Whilst, by day they seek chaste pleasures by play[ing] the same game together. Many strive to show an affectionate liking' with one another, they were lifted up: they were friends. Whilst the most shifted camp, Samneric remained loyal, grinning and panting at Ralph like dogs' to their master. They are dutiful and serve his bidding, betraying Ralph with protest' only when - they made us. They hurt us we couldn't help it' whilst remaining shameful' in the memory of their new loyalty. With concern for Ralph's welfare, they retain a sense of faithfulness in advising him for his own good' with helpfulness and generosity. Ralph and Piggy too develop a symbiotic relationship: Piggy clung to Ralph' for protection and support, he turned to Ralph. I got the conch, ain't I, Ralph, whilst, when the doubt and wonder' flapped in [Ralph's ] head, Piggy always espoused what Ralph's going to say next. Such was their mutual dependency that Ralph comes to lament having no Piggy to talk sense' and wept for [his] true wise friend. Independently, some evince well-meaning, compassionate and thoughtful qualities to contribute to the good of society. Some manifest courage; Jack and Ralph physically, he forced his feet to move, Piggy morally, which is better- to have law and rescue or hunting and breaking things up?' and Simon spiritually, to acknowledge the darker truths of his own soul. Ralph and Piggy are both egalitarian and fair-minded because what's right is right. As chief Ralph is dutiful, solicitously, he thought of the littuns and Piggy' and understanding towards the feelings of others, he saw that he was hurt and crushed' and was eager to offer something. Piggy is sensible and logical, only Piggy could have the intellectual daring to suggest moving the fire from the mountain. Passion beat about Simon, with his saintly disposition he was genuinely sensitive to the needs of others, being especially concerned with free[ing] [others] from indignity.
