My Dog

            One experience in my life that has been particularly meaningful to me was when my dog named Angel had passed away. First off it was bad timing because she passed away when I was on vacation in Hawaii. I found out what happened when I got back from my trip. I was very depressed for the next couple of days, shocked at what had just happened. I new she had a very happy but difficult short life. She only lived for only seven years. In the middle of her life though there was a scary moment. One day she started to walk with just her front two legs and dragged the other two behind her. My family figured out that she was paralyzed in the rear end of her body. But my family took care of her until she was able to walk again. We were afraid she wasn't going to make it though those times but she did. But this summer was her time to leave the earth. The event of her passing away was so meaningful to me because it helped me to understand what it was like to lose something that I really loved. I figured out though that I had to overcome some of my feelings and live the rest of my life. If I didn't I would be miserable for the rest of my life. It was very lonely though without a dog so a week later my family went out looking for more dogs. A few days later we got a new dog and named her Jacky. With this dog I spend as much time with her as I possibly can because I"ll never know if something will happen to her. I will never forget my old dog Angel though because of her great battle though life that eventually came to an end. .
