Napolean Bonaparte


            Napoleon Bonaparte was born in Ajaccio, Corsica on August 15, 1769. He was the fourth of 11 children and came from a relatively wealthy family. Who was from a class of nobility. Napoleon attended elementary school and a military high school and college. Napoleon married Josephine de Bauhinias in 1796. .
             Napoleon is perhaps the greatest military dictator of all time. In 1799, he seized power in France. Later, in 1804 Napoleon crowned himself emperor of the French. Napoleon faced many challenges throughout his life, but was able to over come almost all of them!.
             Napoleon not only conquered many lands and controlled many things but also instated good. For example, when Napoleon conquered Lower Egypt he reorganized the government, the postal service, and the system for collecting taxes. He also introduced the first printing press, created a health department, built new hospitals for the poor in Cairo and founded the Institut d"Egypte. .
             Napoleon had many great military victories. Some of these include: his crushing of the allied armies at Austerlitz in 1805, his defeat of the Prussians at Jena and Auerstedt in 1806, and his defeat of the Austrians at Wagram in 1809. .
             Napoleon's downfalls began in April of 1814, when he abdicated his throne. Later, in May, he was exiled to Elba. However, in March of 1815 he returned to power in France. Napoleons final defeat came in June of 1815 when he was defeated by the Duke of Wellington at the Battle of Waterloo. Napoleon was exiled to St. Helena in October 1815. He died there in 1821 after suffering from cancer. .
