Homosexual Marriages

When people marry, it is because the two love each other with all their hearts. It's a commitment for life, a very beautiful thing to share. It also entitles financial responsibility, benefits, and protection. After marriage the couple can either have a family, or stay with just themselves enjoying whatever they chose. Who says the couple has to be male and female in order to enjoy this life. Times are changing, and changes are good. Who would want the same life forever? Because of these changes, people have to become more open minded to things, an example is homosexuality. When people say it's not "normal" to be gay, then what exactly is "normal"? If people stuck to their traditions and religious beliefs from the 1900's, females wouldn't have any say in this country. Look how far this county has come; change is what makes America what it is today. It's our free speech and the right to be who we are that makes us so powerful. Banning same sex marriages is discrimination, the total opposite of what America is about.
No one has the right to say no to love. Love is a strong emotion that cannot be shut off. Even if homosexual marriages are banned in some states, that does not mean that the couple will fall out of love. America is full of different cultures and views, it's what we are known for. First it was interracial marriages that were looked at strangely and not "normal". It was until 1967 when the Supreme Court ruled such bans unconstitutional. Now it's common to see an African American male marrying an Asian, or Italian girl. People didn't like it at first, but it became apart of American culture, the openmindness of people's choices. The government should have no right to restrict marriage to homosexuals; they have the right to be accepted in the United States.
Our constitution states that all men are created equal. If that is true, how can we deny any marriage because of their sexual preference? The state of Hawaii declared it to be a violation to deny same-sex marriages.
