Napoleon in every farm battle in the book says he was in charge of operations from the rear showing that he was a coward and that there was inequality in that he should fight to. In chapter 9 we read of Boxer's outrageous destruction. Napoleon sells him to the knacker's yard and so at that point the pigs quickly turn more and more evil, as they have removed their probably biggest threat, Boxer. This killing is terrible and is completely wrong but once again Squealer would save the day with lies.
Snowball also played a roll in the failure of the revolution. "Comrades", said Snowball, "it is half past six and we have a long day before us." This quotation from chapter 2 shows Snowball almost acting as Mr. Jones as he gives out orders. Snowball was a lot less sly than Napoleon and would argue with him constantly on any point. Except one. In chapter 3 when apples and milk were decided should be reserved for the pigs Snowball and Napoleon seemed in complete agreement. This shows the inequality and that already early in the book, the pigs, including Snowball were abusing the power they now possessed. In chapter 4 Snowball says to Boxer, "The only good human is a dead one." This statement shows Snowball's lack of compassion, although this was not against animalism it would show that if Snowball had become ruler then the story would be different. From this statement you can tell he is ruthless although not as much as Napoleon. It basically tells us that if Snowball had become the ruler that the revolution would also have failed, just not as quickly. Snowball was the pig that started his unrealistic education classes. These were failures, but if they had worked on the stupider animals you could bet that the failure would have taken a lot longer to happen as without it the pigs had a large benefit over animals in that they were smart and could persuade without being challenged.
Other pigs brought on the failure such as Squealer.
