Red Scarf Girl

First and foremost I must say that I felt quite intellectual while reading this book. For the first time in quite a while, I was able to prove to myself that I have some supreme ability to read and comprehend sentences with no more than 5 words per sentence, and no more than 5 sentences per paragraph I think our school accidentally took this book from the elementary list. .
Secondly, this book is about history. This should have been enough of a warning for me to position the book back onto the shelf where I had picked it from, and the proceeded to run to the other side of Borders, where history books are not allowed, but the cover was just so colorful and attractive. If nothing else was learned from this book, I believe that I now know how moths feel when they fly into those moth-zapping devices. The deep red background laying in perfect contrast to those happy little yellow stars on the cover page made me do it. Zaaaaap.
I would stop here, and state that knowing this is enough of a review for me, and that what I have needed to say about this book, I have successfully done so in less than two paragraphs, but this journal has to be a minimum of six pages long, so I have no other choice but to continue. .
Also noteworthy is the fact that this novel was highly recommended by the ALA, Publishers Weekly, and School Library Journal. One of my favorite books is Breakfast of Champions. The ALA, Publishers Weekly, and School Library Journal hated Breakfast of Champions. I hate the ALA, Publishers Weekly, and School Library Journal; they have no taste. .
All in all, those who had previously read this novel kept saying how this account of the Cultural Revolution was absorbing, a page-turner, excellent, completely engrossing. Why, this book is so superb that when I become a millionaire I shall purchase this deeply moving account and make sure that it is on the self of everyone's library! Wait, no, no I won't.
