Abortion


            In January of 1973, the highest court in Texas reversed the laws banning abortion. These laws were not only reversed in Texas but in all fifty states. Prior to this decision, a woman named Norma McCorvey told people that she had been raped to get sympathy for her case of legalizing abortion. In 1973, the case was heard by the U.S. Supreme Court and is today known by all as the Roe in Roe v. Wade. To many people, Norma is a women who helped in giving other women the right to choose but those same people are unaware of where Norma stands today. Now Norma is involved in Operation Outcry (a project center for Reclaiming America is doing in conjunction with the Texas Justice Foundation) They are working together with the purpose of repealing Roe v. Wade in the courts. When you see the complete turn around Norma made it makes you wonder what changed. The Difference in Norma McCorvey is Jesus Christ. .
             After the case of Roe v. Wade, an abortion clinic moved next door to Norma's office. The love and kindness the people in the clinic showed her and the response of one woman changed her life forever. One day Norma asked a woman what is was about pro-life that made her happy. The woman replied that "when you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you don't have to be sad about anything." .
             Abortion can be defined by Webster's Dictionary as a "termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival." When People consider the term abortion, fetus or embryo are a few of the words that come to mind. Its not very often that we find pro-abortionists using terms such as baby or child. Abortion is the most common type of surgery performed on women aged 17-25. Over 100,000 terminations are carried out nationally each year. .
             When dealing with the issue of abortion there are two different sides you can take. They are pro-life (anti-abortionists) or pro-choice (abortionists).
