Original Western Story

Tumbleweeds were scurrying across the landscape, and giant, fluffy clouds filled the never ending blue sky. In the tiny but growing town of Merrysburg, Wyoming, modern life was beginning to work its way into the rural area. This was mostly caused by the new rail road line just a half a mile from the edge of town. A new courthouse, bank, and sheriff's station were already done construction. It was the perfect picture except for some of the reckless locals that didn't adhere to the changes Merrysburg was going through, especially Johnny McDougal and his gang. .
As a result, the towns crime rate was more than it ever was, and the mayor, Butch Sundance, needed a new sheriff to take care of the towns predicaments. Sure enough, he came in on the railroad the following day. His name was David Thomas Walker and he didn't take anything for granted. He was a tall, grizzly man with a full handlebar mustache. He wore a low sitting black hat and boots with three inch diameter spurs. Just the raw energy he emitted got the town gossiping. As he made his way to his new station, he met the mayor. "I hope you find your new station to your liking. I trust your presence will calm down the locals who persist in vandalizing and terrorizing my town". "It'll do and I'll take care of it," Walker murmured. The mayor looked at him curiously, wondering why his answer was so nonchalant. .
However, a feeling inside the mayor told him that Walker meant well and that made him trust the new sheriff. "I have full confidence in you.Good day", the mayor said. As the sun began to float into the western edge of the horizon, Sheriff Walker strolled about the town showing his face to the citizens. He liked the town, everyone seemed to be happy, and life was bustling. With the new town and job, Walker couldn't get over his one flaw, loneliness. Sure he was big and tough, but something was missing inside of him. As he continued down main street, it hit him like a bucket of cold water.
