A Letter for College Acceptance

            My name is Alexis Jovanovic and I am writing this letter to show that I am an excellent candidate for principal's discretion for Lane Tech College Prep. I represent my school to the best of my ability through my studies, my achievements in sports, participating in extracurricular activities and various charity events. I stay focused with my studies through studying hard, turning in all assignments on time and being involved during class time. I do not hesitate to ask questions whenever needed which helps me excel. I have been on Honorable Mention for at least the past three years. This means I maintain an A and B average throughout the quarter. .
             One of my favorite classes is Math because I like to solve complex problems and have always loved numbers. I enjoy trying to solve many problems that get harder as we learn throughout the year. I believe this enjoyment will prepare me for the classes I will take in high school and college. Another one of my favorite classes is History because I love learning about our past. I have been learning about history since I was a little kid. I would always read about things over the summer break even though it was not assigned to me. I find it very interesting to learn about how our past affects us today. One of my favorite periods in History is World War II due to the fact that both my grandparents were in Europe during the War. They met while they were prisoners of war. I would love to hear their stories of how they overcame their hardships and made it to America. My love for history will never be replaced and hope that my career in the future will involve this subject.
             I am involved in many sports which are cross country, basketball, volleyball, and bowling. In cross country I have placed in the top 10 for every meet competing with other schools. During volleyball season I had a high percentage in serving, passing plays and hits. In one tournament I helped our team win first place against four different teams.
