Happiness can be defined as what you enjoy to do. Everyone ought to have a hobby to allow themselves to have an escape from reality, this is not the same as your "happy place" previously motioned. A hobby can help one be happy and escape their problems only for a short period of time, never should your hobby take over your entire lifestyle. You can be alone with your fad, or it can include one hundred people, it does not matter who is involved as long as you are among people who love you most and you can truly happy with that group. Many can define happiness differently, but no one can disagree with the concept of being happy when you are doing what you love most.
Epicureans believed to achieve happiness you only need the basics, food, water, and clothing. A genuinely happy person is one who brings happiness to those around them. Not one person can achieve happiness unless they give back to the community and help others less fortunate than you. You can never find true happiness unless you experience first hand giving back to the ones that are less fortunate than you are. Humankind would be improved if people would give back to their community, once you return the act of kindness to another you will achieve true happiness. You can not be so greedy to only find happiness with the things you do, when you show someone the pathway of happiness it can bring just as much joy to you as it does to the person you helped. .
There are multiple obstacles some have to struggle with when trying to obtain true happiness. These impediments could include: depression, an un-happy marriage, stuck in a dreadful job, or no loved ones to cherish valuable memories with. Depression is most likely the most common interference when trying to obtain happiness; this could cause someone to feel helplessness/hopelessness, an act of self-loathing, loss of energy, and loss of interest in daily activities.
