" By reading at the first line from this poem, this opening scene brings us in a tranquil forest deep in the mountains close to an ancient temple. Through these lines, we can see Wang Wei does not know where the temple exactly is, but heard before. Therefore, he decided to walk around leisurely in the mountain, wishing his feet will lead him to the temple, which then by accidently he encountered the Incense Massed temple. Within a relaxed and casual mood the writer gave us a hint about how he feels standing at the center of a mountain. The fresh air he could felt and green sight he could see everywhere that surrounded by the clouds. Wang Wei uses "several miles " to describe the length of the journey, and using "cloudy peaks " explain the height of the mountain. It gives the impression that the Incense Messed Temple as he can see is quiet, distant, grand and majestic. The smooth and fluency lead us to the place that Wang Wei drew by his words. As I mentioned previously, Wang Wei was a brilliant landscape painter especially when we reading at his poetry just like this one, we can sense there shows something of the painter's attention to space, shapes, and the pattern of relationships formed by objects in space . Go down two lines "Ancient trees, trails with no one there, deep in hills, a bell from I knew not where " . Walking in a forest where no one has been here before, while Wang Wei saw those ancient trees reaching the sky, suddenly he hears the sound of a bell from a remote distance in silence without knowing the direction. Since this poem are allocated into the second type of poems at Tang Dynasty, which most likely a dairy. The structure of this poem is likely using the narrative method, naturally and smoothly pictured a story of his journey for readers. The last sentence looks like an interrogative sentence, however it also gives us the certain answer about the environment around him.
