Teenage Pregnancy in America

In this country, parents are more likely to focus on their work and they don't have much time for their kids either. Over more, parents don't care much for their kids about using effective birth control for protection. Teens usually don't depend on adults and they don't get good advice from adult much either. Most teenage that got pregnant at the young age don't really know about the effective birth control and neither their partners. Not knowing enough information about effective birth control can lead to the unintended pregnancies especially young kids who are still in high school. And these are some causes of teenage pregnancy.
             And the second main point is the affects or consequences of teenage pregnancy. School Completion, finance difficulties/economic costs, and medical complication are the three consequences of teenage pregnancy. According to the book of Kids Having Kids by Rebecca, Young teen mothers have exceptionally low probabilities of completing their schooling. Teens drop out and quit to continue on their school especially girls who have to take care of their baby. Many of those who completed regular high school have very low basic skills. Having low education credentials and low basic skills can lead to the limitation of employment opportunities. This consequence would lead to another consequence which is difficulties with finance and low level of position kind of works will lead to low income. Economic cost is also included because a lot of money was spent for medical cares for each pregnancy. The other consequence is the medical complication. According to Centers for disease control and prevention, young teenage girls who got pregnant at the young age face with health issue. Not many of teenage girls who had a baby at a young are fully healthy. Some are diagnosed with heart disease, low blood pressure or depression. These are the consequences of teenage pregnancy.
             And my last main point is ways that we can help reduce the rate and help teens protect themselves from unintended pregnancies.
