Requiring Music Education in Primary Schools

Primary schools everywhere are beginning to cut music programs from their students' schedules. It is becoming less of an importance and becoming increasingly seen as a disruption to the students' lives and academics. "The required general music program in grades K–6 is less vibrant than it was at the midpoint of the twentieth century" (Colwell and Rodriguez). For, many reasons, music is being taken out of our primary schools. It is losing its importance in students' lives and is growing less popular in our schools. At the rate music is being taken out of schools, it will be completely cut from all primary schools.
If music is cut from primary school, then secondary schools will end up cutting music from their list of class options as well. There is no point in teaching music in secondary schools if it is not being taught in primary schools. Students would not know how to play an instrument or know how to sing healthily unless they take private lessons. Students and parents, however, cannot always afford these pricy private lessons and the only way for a student to get the music education he or she wants is by participating in school music classes. Music does not only affect students, but it has affected history as well. Music has been a part of many countries before the historic dawn. It has been there behind every major decision in history as an emotional gateway for stressful situations and was used for the celebration of a wedding or as a wakeup call, or Revile, amongst troops. Music has flooded through the veins of our country and many other countries too. It is buried so deep within us that it is now a part of us. .
Music is a large part of our history and has infiltrated every part of history. Mankind expresses himself by a multitude of songs. Take out music, and you take out majority of the world's expressive art. Music makes people feel something. It spreads an idea across a country and can begin revolutions.
