92.7 percent of all people arrested by the Ferguson police department were black and only 6.9 percent were white. This is racial inequality because black people are not always doing wrong things, but are abused by the police. Attorney General Eric Holder said that Ferguson "should consider the role that increased diversity in law enforcement can play in helping to build trust within communities. " This is totally true because it will allow black people to trust the police. Similar cases have emerged in recent history. Such as the Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Renisha Mcbride and other cases which involve similar situations. I believe that the percent of white cops over black cops is a major factor and that this should change in the future. .
Police should not be killing unarmed citizens. Use of deadly force by police should be their last option if they are attacking with a weapon. Police should focus more on preventing violence. Lethal force should never be used against unarmed civilians. Police officers should not be allowed to kill anyone for similar failure to obey. Just because the officer has been disrespected or threatened they should not have the right to kill. Also, why is the federal government supplying American police department's military grade equipment? Some of these places don't need military equipment based on modest crime rates, no terrorist activities and some drug problems. According to the witness in the Michael Brown shooting said, Michael Brown hands were raised before he was shot by officer Wilson. He was shot several times in the face and other parts of his body including arms. Michael Brown was unarmed but stopped for jaywalking. No need there to shoot someone several times in the face and other body parts because they would already be dead. The force used by Ferguson police has to be stopped because they are beating, arresting, and shooting people with rubber bullets in the riots/protests.
