Coca Cola is perhaps the most famous brand, spread around the world thus the company's image managers always tried a rather strategic positioning in order to gain popularity, trust but what's more important to maintain its top position. To begin with, I would like to say that the PR responsible with the promotional campaigns but also the advertising agency which deals with the TV commercials have always had innovative ideas that had a good grip on everybody from children to grown-ups. But the one that really caught my fancy, the one I could never get tired of is that with the famous Coca Cola Santa Claus. It has been my favourite advertising since I was a child and these days, even if I grew older and I have changed with the passing of the time, I still wait impatiently for Coca Cola to wish us Merry Christmas" and happy holidays.
As we all know, holidays are among the most important moments in a family's life, because it is that time if the year when the whole family reunites to celebrate , have fun, reminisce and have a wonderful time. So twenty years ago they came up with the idea of making an advertisement that would become the most broadcasted each year around and during holidays. It is still famous, still loved and adored by people around the world, still bringing happiness in our hearts and souls.
Secondly, one of the main reasons why this 33 seconds long advertising instantly catches the viewer's attention is the lack of boredom and the fact that it doesn't force people into buying their products, which is a very good strategy if you ask me. Besides, it presents the whole family together: parents, grand-parents, children along with grand-children impatiently waiting for the holidays to finally come and fill their hearts with merry and joy.
The message the company wants to transmit to the public is just the fact that the holidays are coming which is a good reason to become better persons because, after all this time to bestow".
