Abortion - Standing Up for My Faith

            The editorial "Does God Care About Who Wins Football Games" published by the Student News Daily, tells the story of a football player named Tim Tebow who stands up for his faith through the game of football in the NFL. It shows how he was judged and mocked during the recent playoff game that he won by throwing the game-winning touchdown in overtime. I, too, can recall a time in my life when complete strangers criticized me for standing up for what I believe in. This experience took place on the March For Life in Washington D.C., our nation's capital to stand up against the cruel act of abortion. I faced the harsh reality of different views from people in congress and calling to mind where I really stand with my beliefs making me put my faith into action. My experience was different from Tim Tebow's, but was the same concept of standing up for what you believe in. While going through this I learned something very important. Instead of just stating what I believe, I should stand up for what I believe in and always put my faith into action no matter the cause or event.
             This year I'll be 20 years old and I owe my life to my birth mother for giving me life. When I was born my adoptive mother was praying for a baby because she and my adoptive father had not been able to have kids at all. She knelt before an image of Mary, the mother of God and asked her to pray to her son Jesus Christ. A couple of weeks later my adoptive parents received a phone call through their adoption agency they went through that they had a baby boy waiting for them to adopt. In two weeks I was born and my adoptive parents came to pick me up and bring me home. .
             My birth parents were an older couple when they had me and weren't very wealthy at the time. They lived down in Detroit and met at a local concert down there. My birth mom was straight from England and my birth dad was from Germany. My birth mom was very tall and so was my birth dad.
