In the beginning, we are introduced to Paul when he was called Saul of Tarsus. It was when he didn't have Christ in his life. We find him standing over the dead body of Stephen when he ordered the people to stone him to death. He was then pronounced the first Christian martyr. Throughout the rest of his years Paul becomes a victor and conqueror in the Christian faith. Before becoming a missionary to Christ he was called Saul the persecutor of the Christian church. As a Jew Paul saw the uprising of the Christian movement of men and women that followed Jesus Christ. He then received permission from the High Priest at that time to persecute all that we found worshiping the Lord. (Acts 9:1-2 KJV) .
There is not a lot of information about Paul's family. It is said that his mother might have died when he was younger. Also in Acts 23:16 Luke mentions Paul's sister. It never mentions that Paul has a wife at all. Even though he did talk about families and marriage, he never did get married. Paul had a very good education while growing up. At the age of five Paul began to read the scripture, at six he was trained to be a rabbi, and from ten to thirteen years old he attended a vocational school to study tent making also when he was sixteen he went to a Rabbinical College. When Paul grew up and got saved he still perused the tent making business. Growing up and the rest of Paul's life he struggled with bad eye sight and he had a speech impairment. After being saved he had a strong zeal to serve the Lord. Paul was a Roman and Jewish Citizen and this helped him along the way to make the ministry easier for him and to minister to the Romans, Jews, and Gentiles. .
Paul's Salvation Experience.
Saul was stopped by the Lord on his way to Damascus to persecute the Christians. (Acts 9) There was a bright light from the heavens that affected Saul to fall to the earth. Then the voice of the Lord asked Saul why Saul was persecuting Him.
