In this essay I will be explaining why homework should be banned. In my opinion homework is a waste of time and is a bad way for kids to learn. Homework creates really bad and unnecessary working habits, homework creates stress for students especially those in higher grades, they need to study for tests, homework shortens your free time, for yourself and when wanting to spend time with family members and friends. Lastly homework creates school within our own home which is bad for out developing mind.
The first reason homework should be banned is because it shortens your free time. Since so much time is spent doing homework because we get given so much, less time is actually spent doing what we want. For example we may want to spend time with our family members, relatives, friends or doing extra curricular activities like exercising, but we can't because most of our free time goes towards doing homework. Due to having more homework and less I'm doing extra curricular activities and spending time with family members we may be gain weight and lose or be less in contact with our family members and have less of a relationship with them. Due to the loss of free time homework should be banned.
The second reason homework should be banned is because it causes stress to students. Homework can add to existing stress or can create stress that is unwanted. Researchers studies 4,317 students from ten high performing high schools and studies showed people who spend more than one hour doing homework experienced more stress, physical health problems and lack of balance in their social and personal lives. Due to the amount of stress that homework causes students, grades can lower and this may cause more stress towards the student and make them more depressed causing them to work more harder instead of relaxing to reduce the stress, but instead they just push themselves and as a result become even more stressed than they were before.
