According to Capital Punishment, 2012 – Statistical Tables of U. Department of Justice - Bureau of Justice Statistics *, there are 3,033 inmates under the sentences of death. This statistical number expresses the fact that there are 3,033 offenders either died or will be executed. Capital Punishment is a legal concept that the offender is put to death as the punishment for severe crimes like Murder related to rape or child molestation, Murder for hire, Murder involving torture, etc*. Crime causes to the result of capital punishment called capital crimes or capital offenses. Some people contend that death sentence is cruel, inhumanity and inherently violates the Constitutional ban against cruel and unusual punishment. But in my opinion, capital punishment is appropriate. Death Sentence is like a terror weapon for offender, compensation for the victim. Murders and server criminals deserve capital punishment. .
Firstly, Capital Punishment is like an ultimate warning for the criminal. Justice system's initial purpose is to sentence the best punishment that fits the crime. Shoplifter is off course treated with the shorter sentence or less severity than a bank's robbery. Without Capital punishment, where is the justice when the premeditated homicide will end up with the same judgment with the severe robbery or sexual misconduct? . Murder with premeditation deserves the highest punishment. If not, there will be an argument that justice system provides no justice for victims. Moreover, people afraid of the death no matter they are the criminals or the victims. With the awareness and warning of capital punishment, if they are about to commit a homicide, they will hesitate or decline their crime. Maybe, severe crime still happen but the fact that if the murder know the ultimate place they are going to be is death, they can spare victim's life. It can give criminal a comprehensive understanding of a possibility of the future sentence for what ever he/she commits.
